Welcome to
Semaj Therapeutic Services provides consulting, counseling, and coaching services.
At Semaj Therapeutic Services, we are here to support your emotional and mental health awareness journey.

My name is Kristi James, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and owner of Semaj Therapeutic Services.

I’m passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and find balance. I earned my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Alabama State University and have experience supporting clients through a wide range of
mental health concerns.
Using a blend of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Exposure Therapy, I tailor my approach to meet each person where they are. Whether you're working through past trauma, struggling with self-worth, or learning to set healthy boundaries, I’m here to help you unravel the tangled threads of your story and weave a path forward. I believe healing is a journey best walked together, hand in hand. If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or hopeless, you don’t have to face it alone,
I’m here to support you.
Outside of therapy, I love traveling, dancing, exploring new cultures, and embracing new experiences. Self-care is essential, and I find joy in life’s simple pleasures: reading a good book, connecting with loved ones, and taking in the world around me.
Let’s begin the journey toward clarity and healing together.
I am glad you took the first step to begin or continue your healing journey.
INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING
Individual counseling sessions are a safe and confidential space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is my belief that everyone has the ability to overcome challenges and create a fulfilling life. I strive to tailor counseling approach to each person’s unique needs and experiences, utilizing evidence-based techniques to help facilitate growth and healing on your journey towards wellness.
FAMILY COUNSELING
Family therapy is an approach to mental health treatment that emphasizes the importance of relationships within families and how these relationships shape mental health. I believe that families are crucial to our well-being and that healing comes when we strengthen and repair these relationships. I am trained to work with families to help them communicate better, understand each other's feelings, and resolve conflicts that may be causing tension or distress.
